Jennifer Aniston’s latest big screen effort, The Switch, bombed at the box office opening weekend. But maybe she’ll have more luck joining an old friend on the small screen.

Aniston will guest star as a therapist on Cougar Town‘s second season premiere, alongside real-life BFF Courteney Cox. It’s not the first time Aniston has done her pal a favor by turning up on her show — she did the same in 2007 for an episode of Dirt on FX.

“She’s going to play Courteney’s shrink named Bonnie,” Cougar Town creator Lawrence tells EW.com. “Kind of a get-too-involved-in-her-life-type of therapist. Those guys are so close in real life they kind of do that for each other anyway. Bonnie has the life Jules wishes she has.”

Kind of ironic, considering that Aniston has yet to achieve the married-with-kids life she’s been publicly seeking since splitting with Brad Pitt in 2005. At least she gets to be godmother to Cox’s little girl, Coco.

Cougar Town will premiere Sept. 22 on ABC.
