Jane Eyre: Part 2

Jane returns to the home she lived in as a child. She discovers that her uncle had wanted to adopt her and make her his heir, but that her vindictive aunt told him that Jane died of fever at Lowood. After the funeral, Jane returns to Thornfield to find that everyone is talking about the prospect Rochester and Blanche's marriage. When Rochester tells Jane she must leave Thornfield, Jane finally expresses her true feelings for him. Relieved, he confesses to Jane that he is in love with her, and proposes. Two nights before their wedding, it is revealed that Rochester is already married to a madwoman who lives in the tower. Jane leaves Thornfield, and is rescued from the elements by St John Rivers and his two sisters. After a year of teaching at a school, St John brings her a letter outlining her family history, which inlcudes him as her half-cousin. Her uncle died and left her a fortune. She returns to Thornfield, and cares for Rochester.
