Season three of How I Met Your Mother gave new meaning to the phrase, "Pulling a Britney."
Thanks to Britney Spears' buzzworthy appearance(s) on the CBS comedy, the aforementioned phrase no longer has anything to do with underwear (or lack thereof). Rather, it refers to a show using a high-profile guest star to boost ratings, i.e. "Eli Stone is pulling a Britney by getting Katie Holmes on the show."
It's fitting for a series that has introduced several catchphrases into the national lexicon, including "slap fight," "suit up!" and "legen-dary." Season three of How I Met Your Mother also introduced Sarah Chalke as the potential titular "mother," as Ted continued his quest for true love. Other guest stars this season include Heidi Klum, Mandy Moore and Enrique Iglesias.
