A comedy series following the adventures of Tim Taylor and his unique slant on masculinity as it relates to his wife, Jill, their three sons, and his "Tool Time" cable show.

Tim is beginning to feel the pangs of a mid-life crisis as he and Jill try to cope with sons Brad, Randy and Mark and their raging adolescent hormones. Al, Tim's "Tool Time" sidekick, decides to start dating again since his split with his fiancee and Heidi, the "Tool Time" girl, learns what it's like to be a working mother. As Jill continues her graduate studies in psychology, she is accepted into the intern program at her university's clinic. Tim continues to turn to his philosopher-neighbor, Wilson, for advice.
