H-E Double Hockey Sticks

An adaptation of Lucas Foss and Alistair Reid's 1965 opera about Griffelkin, a bumbling devil, sent to Earth to earn his horns. Ms. B, the head of the Beelzebub Vocational Institute, orders Griffelkin to steal the soul of Dave Heinrich, a selfish hockey player for the Delaware Demons, who will stop at nothing to win the Stanley Cup. But through an unlikely friendship, the two men find salvation. Dave gets to keep his soul and Griffelkin is recruited to "the other team" as a guardian angel. Ms. B is furious when she finds out Griffelkin has developed Human Attraction Syndrome and heads to Earth as she faces off with Griffelkin in a game for Heinrich's life.
