It's often said that April showers bring May flowers. This TV season, all those flowers are in wedding bouquets. May finales typically feature big events like deaths, births, and weddings, but this season the marriage licenses are being given out like penny candy.

On Chuck's season finale, Ellie finally married Captain Awesome, while the Friday Night Lights finale featured the wedding of Billy Riggins and Mindy Collette. That's just the tip of the iceberg, with several more weddings scheduled.

This week on the 100th episode of Grey's Anatomy, fans are cordially invited to the wedding of Meredith Grey and Derek Shepherd. In a storyline right out of TV, the wedding was rushed to get it in before Izzie dies of skin cancer.

One Tree Hill has another rushed wedding as Lucas and Peyton tie the knot next week in a ceremony moved up because Peyton is having dire complications with her pregnancy.

Speaking of pregnant brides, teenagers Adrianna and Navid decided to get married on 90210, despite the fact that no one thinks it's a good idea. It's also a bad idea because ABC Family's The Secret Life of the American Teenager already had a teen wedding between a pregnant girl and a guy who's not the father.

ABC is also hosting a pair of rushed weddings on its Sunday night shows thanks to very sudden proposals last week. On Desperate Housewives, Jackson returned to ask Susan to marry him. While she confessed her undying love, he revealed that he's just doing it for the green card.

And in the creepiest wedding news, Justin proposed to Rebecca on Brothers and Sisters. Up until one year ago, the two thought they were half-siblings, but a paternity test helped to clear the air and let them fall in love. However, it doesn't change the fact that they used to think they were related and have gotten over it so quickly that they're willing to jump into marriage.

It's sweet that there are this many weddings on TV this season, but clearly these characters don't understand the divorce rates in this country. In addition, TV marriages, especially the big and sudden ones, rarely end well.

With all of these weddings, viewers can now bet on the other likely events to occur on a wedding day. Will one of the bridesmaids get caught having sex in a closet? Will a fight break out? Will the bride-to-be learn that she's pregnant (in two of these cases, that's obviously a moot point)?

This May should be full of surprises because at a big TV wedding, anything (and everything) is possible.

Make your picks for who will go home on your favorite reality shows and compete against other fans with BuddyTV's Fantasy TV.
