Synopsis:
A three-part miniseries based on Charles Dickens's classic novel "Great Expectations," which traces the growth of Philip Pirrip, known as Pip. His young life is peopled by a gallery of memorable characters. They include his surrogate father, the gentle blacksmith named Joe Gargery; the eccentric Miss Havisham, who was abandoned on her wedding day and who has raised her beautiful ward Estella to hate men; and the convict, Magwitch. When an unknown benefactor provides money for Pip's education, the youth sets off for London with the firm resolve to become a gentleman and to realize his "great expectations."
