Olympic gold medalist Nastia Liukin has landed a guest spot on Gossip Girl. And with a name like Nastia, we can only hope she's playing a Mean Girl.
The 18-year-old gymnastics champ, who is a fan of the show, was offered the role after a chance encounter at a Los Angeles restaurant with Gossip Girl producers. The overachieving Liukin is apparently not content with resting on her laurels after winning five gold medals in Beijing -- she is now an aspiring actress/model. How very original.
Liukin will reportedly film her role on Oct. 21. It's unclear whether she will be playing herself or a character. Fellow Olympic golden girl Shawn Johnson previously filmed a guest role on one of her favorite shows, The Secret Life of the American Teenager on ABC Family.
