Gentle Ben

A boy is relocated from Los Angeles to the mountains to live with his uncle, where he forms a special friendship with a bear.

Park ranger Jack Wedloe takes in his recently orphaned nephew, Mark. Wedloe lives in a sparsely populated rural community, where rancher Fog Benson's sheep are being killed by something in the surrounding mountains. Benson believes a certain bear is to blame, and he wants it found and killed. But Mark has befriended the bear and, sure of its innocence, plans to protect it -- with help from Benson's daughter, Ashley.
