Pamela Sitt started writing about reality TV for The Seattle Times in 2003, when the genre really took off with Joe Millionaire. Since then, her taste in television has only gotten worse.

Gabourey Sidibe To Host Saturday Night Live

Saturday Night Live is getting creative with its hosting slate. Weeks after word came that former Golden Girl Betty White would do the honors on Mother’s Day weekend, E! is reporting that Gabourey Sidibe has been booked for later this season.

It’s an interesting choice, given that Sidibe is a newcomer to both television and show biz. Is it really a good idea to throw someone this green onto a live stage and expect her to be funny, to boot? It’s not like Precious was exactly a barrel of laughs, either. Good luck trying to spoof that one, writers!

It’s unclear where Sidibe’s show will fall on the SNL sked. Tina Fey and Ryan Phillippe are also scheduled as upcoming hosts.
