Mark your calendars: Friday Night Lights will return to NBC Jan. 16.

The third season of FNL has been airing on DirecTV, but who has DirecTV? Who even knows what it is? I've seen those Poltergeist commercials and I still have no idea.

The ratings-challenged but still awesome series will likely get no help from its Friday-at-9 p.m. timeslot, but it's better than being cancelled. Right?

Let's hope that the return of FNL doesn't spell death for Lipstick Jungle. It's currently occupying the 9 p.m. Friday slot on NBC.
