Synopsis:
In the May of 1940, an upper class couple from Hastings are interned by the British government as possible spies simply because they are of German descent. Officer Christopher Foyle requests to go fight in the war, but is turned down by his boss, who would rather Foyle solve local crimes. Foyle finds himself embroiled in a murder mystery that involves the death of a prominent businessman's German wife and a soldier who tried to petition the businessman to get his uncle out of an internment camp.
