Synopsis:
John Crichton, an American astronaut, tumbles through a wormhole while testing his theory which uses a planet's gravitation to achieve higher travel speeds in space. The wormhole deposits John in an unknown distant area of the universe where his arrival leads to the death of a Peacekeeper pilot. Crichton lands on a living ship of escaping criminals. Crichton's theory allows his shipmates to escape the Peacekeeper's but they are closely followed as the Peacekeeper Commander blames Crichton for his brother's death.
