Synopsis:
Events in the lives of Elyse and Steven Keaton, former flower children of the '60s and now, twenty years later, the liberal parents of three conservative children: Alex, Mallory, and Jennifer. The series, set in Columbus, Ohio, is premised on this variation of the "generation gap" motif and depicts Elyse and Steven's attempts to cope with their shallow, materialistic children. A fourth child, Andrew, joined the family in the 1986-87 season.
