Synopsis:
Miniseries based on Erich Segal's novel. Dr. Matthew Hiller meets the lovely Silvia Dalessandro while working for an international medical organization. The two are kindred spirits and fall in love, despite her pending pre-arranged marriage. When the lovers are stationed in Africa, they are ambushed by guerilla rebels and she must leave in order to spare his life. Silvia's father, Gian Battista, takes advantage of this tragic circumstance to force her to marry Nico. It takes Matthew 13 years to get over his heartbreak, but he finally marries Evie. Two years later, 15 years after their love affair, Silvia shows up at Matthew's office, hoping he can treat her life-threatening brain tumor.
