Renewal Roundup: Entourage, My Boys, 90210 Get Picked Up
But FX's The Riches gets axed.
Leighton Meester and Adrian Grenier on 'Entourage' -
HBO
There's been a spate of show renewals as of late, so here's a quick roundup: Entourage: HBO renewed the series for a sixth season two weeks after Jeremy Piven took home his third consecutive Emmy for playing Hollywood agent Ari Gold. The Emmys are well-deserved, but the show overall has been faltering since season three. Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester increased the show's buzz factor with a return cameo as a virginal pop queen who caught Vince's eye back in season one. The Mentalist: Simon Baker's CBS drama is the first bona fide hit of the fall season, averaging 15 million viewers in its first two episodes. CBS quickly ordered six additional ones, which is still shy of a full-season pickup of 22 episodes. But I think most women would happily watch Simon Baker read the phone book aloud, so I predict good news in The Mentalist's future. My Boys: The little TBS comedy that could keeps chugging along with its amiable cast. The Chicago-set series just got picked up for a third season, but it probably got the most buzz over the summer when The Hills star Lauren Conrad was rumored to be dating My Boys co-star Kyle Howard. 90210: Despite falling ratings and poor reviews, The CW has renewed 90210 for a full season. I'm still watching this show, but it bores me. Ratings may pick up if Luke Perry returns to his former zip code as Kelly's baby daddy, Dylan McKay. But even Brenda Walsh know better than to stick around -- Shannen Doherty has officially jumped ship after four episodes. I'll probably be not too far behind her. The Riches: The critically acclaimed FX comedy has been cancelled after two seasons. Most Popular Stories
