The fellas of Entourage return for a new season of bright lights, big city shenanigans on July 12.
Based on the previews, it looks like Vince's career is turning around, which means the boys will be back on top. But are any of these dudes on top of their girlfriend game? We ranked the five lead characters based on their dating potential to determine who's a summer fling and who's the real thing.
5. Ari Gold
OK, Ari (Jeremy Piven) is married, so it's not like he's really up for grabs anyway. But seriously, would you really want to be his woman? His pros (successful, wealthy, loyal and somewhat accommodating to his wife) pale in comparison to his overall cons (brash, insensitive, disrespectful, opportunistic, quick-tempered, married to his job and swears like a sailor in front of his kids).
Ari leaves his kid's birthday party to tend to work matters, and often embarrasses his wife in public with his abrasive personality. When going out in public without causing a scene is as rare as it is for Ari, you can pretty much bid any romantic evening farewell.
4. Johnny Drama
Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon) is sensitive and can cook -- two big bonuses -- but his desperation, short fuse and narcissism are hard to overlook.
As a C-list celebrity, Drama isn't exactly top pick for the ladies of Hollywood, so we haven't seen the full range of his boyfriend skills. But when he did briefly score a really hot French girlfriend while at the Cannes Festival, he ended up driving her away by smothering her -- all the way from L.A.
If that's not enough of a deal-breaker, we have two words for you: Calf implants.
3. Vince Chase
As a Hollywood actor with numerous films under his belt, Vince (Adrian Grenier) has the boyfriend "wow-factor." He's hot, has money, is successful, driven and talented. On the cons side, though, he's not much into commitments, bragging that he's bedded at least a thousand women. And if you were the lady that captured his heart, you'd have to live up to his ex, Mandy Moore, whom he places on a pedestal. She's the one person that makes him all melty and wobbly inside. A lose-lose situation.
Plus, he hasn't been smart about investing any of his earnings so when/if his career takes another turn for the worse, his girlfriend could end up supporting him -- and his freeloading friends.
2. Turtle
Of the five, Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) has displayed the least amount of career potential in the series. He's Vince's driver, had a short-lived gig as a hip-hop artist's manager and gets weed for the rest of the crew.
But that's not to say he couldn't be a decent boyfriend. He's a loyal friend with an easygoing personality who often sees the bright side of stressful situations. He has a nurturing side, as evidenced by the way he takes care of his dog, Arnold. And, we have a feeling if he actually had a girlfriend to impress, he'd try a little harder on the career front.
Toward the end of last season, he started seeing Jamie-Lynn Sigler and demonstrated even more potential, keeping their relationship on the down-low from his friends -- even though bragging about it would have made him the superstar of the group.
1. Eric Murphy
By far the most responsible of the gang, Eric (Kevin Connolly) also has the brightest future for career longevity in Hollywood. He's had success as Vince's manager, started his own management company, and has innate good instincts. Once he gains the confidence to stand his ground against more experienced Hollywood types, he'll be a force to contend with.
But perhaps more importantly, he's the only dude of the bunch that seems to respect women and seek out long-term relationships. And although he's often overshadowed by larger-than-life personalities of his friends, he's clever and witty and a pretty good catch.
