Drop Dead Diva: Do OverSynopsis:
Jane wakes up alone in bed from a work-related dream: Deb in a courtroom combining practicing law with working on a game show, with the ultimate prize concealed behind a curtain. Roommate Stacy suggests that the recurring dream is stress-related and they should take a trip to Palm Strings and have a spa day. At the office, Parker passes off a case to Kim involving a psychiatrist and Kim takes the opportunity to grab some face time with new guy (and Deb’s ex-fiancé) Grayson. Hoping to get out of the office, Jane gets stuck with re-arguing a trucking case due to jury misconduct. Facing hard-nosed Judge Madeline Summers, Jane attempts to delay the trial but the trial has to start immediately. Kim and Grayson learn more about their case and the dissociative identity disorder that was resolved in an unsatisfying fashion. Back at the firm, Fred expresses attraction for Stacy. Stacy shows Jane the obituary the paper ran for Deb, but they used the wrong photograph. In court, Jane gets uncharacteristically emotional while questioning a witness. Jane has the game show dream again, but this time it results in Jane physically strangling Deb. Parker talks to Jane about her behavior in court and Jane seems confident it will not happen again. In the psychiatrist trial, Kim catches the psychiatrist in a conundrum. Jane notices a photo of Deb in Grayson’s office but Kim interrupts the moment. In court, Jane is held in contempt after going off on a witness who changed his testimony from the last trial. Judge Summers visits Jane in her jail cell and jogs her memory about the lessons they have taught each other over the years. Kim and Grayson have dinner together but Jane interrupts them from jail. After he bails her out, Grayson and Jane talk about trial strategy. Jane uses Stacy to create a trap for the trucking company. In court, Kim cross-examines Simon/Jake, the boyfriend with dissociative personality disorder, and discovers that he had an affair with the psychiatrist. Jane brings Stacy into court and shocks the defense and they decide to settle the case again for a higher amount. At the firm, Parker is impressed by the settlement amount and Jane counsels Fred on the ways of love. Grayson confronts Kim about her manipulative dinner plan, but eventually goes to grab a bite to eat with her. Stacy shows Jane her obituary, this time with the correct photo.
