Drop Dead Diva: The F WordSynopsis:
Deb is still getting used to her new life inside Jane, and her prejudices about weight are exposed as she meets with a client suing a former employer (the Sun Bar) for size discrimination. More than a settlement is up for grabs, however: The firm has a chance to impress the union and Jane has a chance to make partner. Kim, meanwhile, represents a husband in a divorce case who could care less about material possessions but wants his donated kidney back from his wife. Stacy brings Jane lunch and tries to keep her focused on the new diet and fitness plan. In court, Jane’s client comes under scrutiny for gaining weight. Kim’s client is determined to get his kidney back and puts pressure on the attorneys to make it happen. Jane and Stacy go to the Sun Bar to investigate how the employees are treated. Deb flashes back to one of her nights at the Sun Bar, the night she met her future ex-fiancé Grayson. Wistful over her former life, Jane heads back to her old apartment, now Fred’s place to crash. Back in court, Jane questions the Sun Bar owner who quantifies how larger servers hurt his profits. Kim and Grayson play hardball with the opposing counsel over the kidney. After a blow-up with Stacy, Jane goes back to her old apartment and ponders the disconnect between Deb’s memories and Jane’s intelligence. The next day at the office, Jane and Grayson discuss the kidney case and have an awkward though tender moment. After her rough day in court with a special witness brought in by the firm to establish that excess weight is a disability, Parker confronts Jane about taking over the case but Jane holds her ground. Reconciling with Stacy, Jane gets an idea for her closing. In court, Jane brings in a group of size 14 women to hammer home the point that size discrimination is something that needs to be prevented and legislated. Kim and Grayson finish up their divorce case with the wife keeping the kidney and the husband moving on emotionally. When the jury comes back quickly with the verdict in Jane’s case, the defendant decides to settle. Jane gets her client her old job back and lands the Service Worker’s Union contract for the firm. The firm celebrates Jane’s victory.
