Drop Dead Diva: Make Me A Match

Jane is summoned to Judge Summers’ office for another round of Scrabble. Walking past Kim’s office, Grayson is fingered by her client, a psychic named Lily, as the lawyer who is going to win her case and he obliges. Jane vows to help Judge Summers with her case against a matchmaking agency. Lily talks to Grayson about her sister Tessa and the conflict over their psychic shop in Santa Monica that led to Tessa opening a competing shop across the street. Jane talks to Stacy about the psychic but is interrupted by guardian angel Fred arriving at the door. Fred explains that he gave up his guardian angel status to come back to Earth to woo Stacy again. Jane and Judge Summers talk to the matchmaking service and its attorney about the details of the contract. The matchmaker offers Judge Summers an opportunity to attend a mixer and Jane is forced to accompany her. Stacy arrives home and pepper sprays Fred when she confuses him for an attacker. Lily and Tessa confront each other and try to hash out a possible settlement. Tessa has a psychic impulse about Grayson that shakes him up. Grayson visits Tessa and discusses Deb’s death and her presence in his life. At the mixer, Jane and Stacy try to get Judge Summers to mingle and she meets a nice older gentleman named Martin, but he turns out to be an older actor. Opposing counsel Tony asks Jane out to dinner. In court, Jane tries to make inroads into the matchmaker’s defense, but Judge Summers takes her own turn cross-examining the witness and possibly hurts her case. Grayson tries a new tack and wants Tessa to contact their dead father in order to depose him for the case. Fred gets his job back at the law firm. Tessa and Lily’s father communicates that they need to work together. In court, Judge Summers is on the stand and gets fed up when opposing counsel confronts her with her own pickiness. After storming out of court, Judge Summers blames Jane for the whole mess. With their case closed, Grayson and Kim move onto discussing their own situation. Judge Summers visits Jane at the office and forgives her for trying to help. Jane scores in court when she confronts the matchmaking service about their shoddy background check procedures and the matchmaking service settles for a full refund. Fred sees Stacy but it turns out that she is going on a date with the departing mailroom guy. Jane talks to Lily and the psychic tells her that she does not have to live in the past. Jane calls Tony and makes a date with him.
