Doc

A comedy/drama series about small-town doctor Clint Cassidy of Montana, aka Doc, who follows his girlfriend to New York, gets dumped and ends up working for an HMO, where his down-to-earth style and compassion endear him to patients. When a dying woman pleads with him to care for her son, he discovers new meaning in life. Characters include: Nate Jackson, a police officer who befriends Doc; Raul, the orphaned youngster who wins Doc's Heart; perky Nurse Nancy; Dr. Derek, the HMO doctor who often sides with Doc; Dr. Oliver Crane, Doc's nemesis; and Ms. Donna DeWitt, the administrator of the HMO who runs things with a velvet hammer.
