Nicollette Sheridan Leaving Desperate Housewives

The actress' rep confirms that Edie Britt will disappear from Wisteria Lane.

The rumors are true: Nicollette Sheridan is leaving Desperate Housewives.

Sheridan's character, sexy Edie Britt, will reportedly be offed in an upcoming episode in which her creepy husband Dave tries to kill her.

Sheridan was part of the original cast of Desperate Housewives, although she played a supporting role to the four main housewives, played by Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross, Felicity Huffman and Eva Longoria Parker. The ABC show is now in its fifth season and is experiencing a surge in creativity and ratings.

Sheridan was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2005 for her role as Edie Britt.
