Captain Phil Harris, a star of Discovery Channel’s The Deadliest Catch , is awake from his coma — and seems to be his old foul-mouthed self.

His sons Jake and Josh Harris tell TMZ that upon waking, their dad told his doctors and nurses at an Anchorage hospital not to “mess up” in language more colorful than we can print here.

The captain is showing other signs of improvement, including squeezing his sons’ hands and barking orders from his hospital bed. Harris was put into a medically induced coma after 12-hour emergency surgery Sunday.

His vessel, the Cornelia Marie, is currently at sea without him.
