In: Kim Kardashian. Out: Dan Quayle. Those are the latest rumblings online about who will be doing the rhumba -- and the Paso Doble, and the Cha Cha Cha -- come Sept. 22 on the seventh season of Dancing With The Stars.

The Dan Quayle rumor was quickly squashed by his spokesman, who admits the show's producers made contact with the former Vice President and expressed interest on having him as a contestant. Quayle is not a big dancer, the spokesman added.

Meantime, reality star Kim Kardashian is being coy about reports that she'll be dancing her, um, booty off come fall. "I can't really comment on that," she told Ryan Seacrest. "I would be honored if they asked me." The news leaked via former Dancing winner Helio Castroneves, who was overheard talking about it at the ESPY Awards.

Still, even the professional ballroom dancers are in the dark about not only their potential partners, but whether they'll appear next season at all.

"We don't know who the celebs are," Karina Smirnoff told me at an ABC party. "We find out the weekend of Aug 10. We'll probably be the last ones to know!"

Fellow dancer Derek Hough also told me that once the the celebs are confirmed, they're matched with the dancers based on height and personality. It worked out for him pretty well last season: Hough is rumored to be dating former partner Shannon Elizabeth. (For the record, he says his dream partner is Angelina Jolie.)

The dancers and their partners will be announced Aug. 25 on ABC's Good Morning America.
