Some thoughts on last night's two-hour extravaganza of sequins, missteps and cleavage that was Dancing With The Stars:

--Is this season going to be a comedy of errors? Jeffrey Ross gets his eye poked out, Karina Smirnoff twists her ankle, and then there was the Kim Kardashian debacle that happened before cameras even started rolling. And I thought Cloris Leachman's age and Toni Braxton's medical condition would be liabilities.

--When Lance Bass said he was the worst dancer in *NSYNC and that "What you saw onstage, I faked it very well," was I the only one who thought: "Um, that's not the only thing you were faking well"? Even his dance partner admitted she had a huge crush on him before he came out of the closet.

--Anyone notice last season contestant Shannon Elizabeth in the audience? She's ostensibly there to cheer on her former dancing partner -- and current boyfriend -- Derek Hough, but I'm guessing she wanted to keep an eye on Brooke Burke as well. The hot mom, paired with Hough, bears a striking resemblance to Shannon.

--Whose idea was it to pair fan favorite Edyta Sliwinska with the hapless Jeffrey Ross? It's almost as if she poked him in the eye on purpose to put him out of his misery. It's a shame she'll get sidelined early because the funny man can't dance.

--Spotted in the front row: Kris (Kim Kardashian's mom) and Bruce Jenner. We already know Kris can't dance -- remember the time she tried out for a hip-hop dance team on Keeping Up With The Kardashians? -- but casting Bruce Jenner next season might be kind of genius.

--Can we keep Cloris Leachman around, just for entertainment value? The bit when she grabbed the cue card from the cameraman and ranted about how Samantha Harris couldn't add up the scores in her head was priceless.
