It was only a matter of time before a show known for wardrobe malfunctions embraced its inner flasher.

Since the beginning, Dancing with the Stars has had more than its fair share of skin exposure, both in the skimpy costumes that showed off those dancer bodies to the first oops moment. When the series premiered as a summer filler back in 2005, no one expected much.

That changed when soap star Kelly Monaco broke the dress strap on her bikini-style top, almost resulting in an FCC-type incident. Those not fortunate to view Monaco clutching at her breasts as she struggled against public exposure could check it out on YouTube for multiple viewings.

Suddenly the stodgy ballroom dancing show that seemed more suited to PBS became TiVo worthy. There's been many a slip since then, adding fuel to the notion that it is no coincidence that the costumes often fail in their cover-up duties.

This season already had some notorious celebrities known for their penchant for public exposure on the roster, but things heated up even more after singer Jewel had to bow out due to an injury. She was quickly replaced by Hugh Hefner's former play toy Holly Madison.

Also leaving the show because of pre-competition injuries is Nancy O'Dell. Her replacement will be announced on the show's premiere tonight, but we're wondering if they might want to tap into the original "Nasty Girl" Janet Jackson. After all, she brought the term "wardrobe malfunction" into the common lexicon.

Until then, we'll have to just watch these five celebs whose fame comes more from their ability to shed their togs than to cut a rug.

1. Holly Madison: Clothing has been optional for Holly, 29, who moved into Hef's life when she was just 22. At the Playboy Mansion, a nip slip is almost required. She's posed nude for Playboy and the recent PETA "I'd Rather Be Naked Than Wear Fur" campaign. Dmitry Chaplin steps in as her partner.

2. Lil' Kim: She's a bad girl rapper who first got noticed more for the pasties she used to wear as a way of covering her ample mammaries than for her tunes. She's gone through a lot in her young life, including the murder of her lover/mentor, Notorious B.I.G. She also comes with the additional baggage of serving some jail time. All we can say is that her dance partner Derek Hough better keep the diva attitude to himself.

3. Steve O: What can we say about this Jackass star? He's been arrested for urinating on potato chips in public and faced indecency charges for stapling his scrotum to his leg (a bit he likes to call The Butterfly) during his comedy act. This time last year, he was on a psychiatric hold at a mental institution. If this isn't a recipe for a disaster waiting to happen, we don't know what is. Let's see how partner Lacey Schwimmer weathers this perfect storm.

4. Denise Richards: It's complicated. Richards loves to bare it all, and we aren't just talking about selling her soul to cable TV. She's had more than her fair share of nude scenes, including an on screen threesome with Matt Dillon and Neve Campbell in Wild Things. Newly engaged -- to Karina Smirnoff! -- Maksim Chmerkovskiy gets the honors as her partner this season.

5. Gilles Marini: This French actor wowed movie audiences as "the naked guy" Dante in the Sex and the City movie as Samantha's beachfront neighbor who has a rockin' sex life and a isn't afraid to show it off. He teases Sam and the audience with his bare-it-all nude shower scene. At least he proved that there can be no malfunction when you don't wear any clothes. Cheryl Burke is the lucky lady who will be his partner.
