Glenn Close just tottered onstage for the Damages panel in very high silver stilettos. She either never wears heels, or it's way too early in the morning.
Tate Donovan is here, still not wearing socks. He showed us his bare feet last night at the pier and offered to let me try on his shoes. I said: No thanks.
But if you're a Damages fan, let's get to the good stuff. Here's what executive producer Daniel Zelman shared about season two:
--The season begins with Ellen Parsons acting as an informant for the FBI, trying to get dirt on her mentor, Patty Hewes, as she goes back to work for her.
--
Arthur Frobisher
is alive. Maybe not well, but alive.
--William Hurt joins the cast as someone who has "some kind of past" with Patty. He's in trouble and goes to Patty for protection and legal assistance in the first episode.
--Marcia Gay Harden will play a high-powered attorney for a big company who will become Patty's nemesis.
--Timothy Olyphant comes onboard as "a mysterious figure" who befriends Ellen in grief counseling. A possible romantic interest, perhaps? Zelman hints that "the future of the relationship is left for the audience to guess at."
Plus: Olyphant compares Damages to HBO's Deadwood, on which he starred as Sheriff Seth Bullock: "When these guys talk, I understand what they're saying." As for the Deadwood movie: "I thought there was a really good chance, but it didn't happen." Boo!
