Whatever happened to Michelle Obama? It seems Sarah Palin stole her thunder. The media that once obsessed over Obama's statuesque figure and campaign outfits have turned their attention to Palin's designer eyewear and beauty pageant swimsuit.
Obama returns to the media spotlight this week on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, where she's scheduled to appear on Wednesday, the night after the second presidential debate. It will be Obama's first visit to Jon Stewart's program; her husband has appeared on the show three times. I think it will be mildly entertaining to see Obama tower over tiny Jon Stewart. I think she's about 6 feet tall in heels.
Obama previously appeared on Comedy Central as a guest of The Colbert Report on April 15.
Meantime, politics continues to be the most entertaining show on television. This weekend's Saturday Night Live scored in the ratings with its spoof of last week's vice presidential debates, starring Tina Fey as a "mavericky" Sarah Palin and Jason Sudeikis as Joe Biden.
