Synopsis:
A twelve-part BBC series, broadcast as a special "Frontline" series, that profiles Soviet citizens of various backgrounds, cultures, and professions from the Baltic to the Orient. Unique insight into the daily lives of Russians and other Soviets are offered by the producers, who were the first Western film team given such freedom in the Soviet Union.
Each program is followed by a studio segment with "Frontline" anchor Judy Woodruff interviewing experts in Soviet affairs.
