Community fans can take heart in the news coming out of Pasadena today. At the annual TCA winter press tour, critics questioned NBC chairman, Robert Greenblatt about the future of Community.

Greenblatt confirmed that the show will finish the season, but there’s still no word on when that will happen. A different time slot might serve the show well, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens. As for a fourth season, he said that they will make that decision closer to the May upfronts when they have more information about the state of the new shows that they are introducing to the schedule.

Other relevant info from the press tour includes the fact that Alec Baldwin will return if 30 Rock has a seventh season. NBC also has high hopes for Smash, although they recognize that one show will not save the network.

Don’t put away your picket signs proclaiming “Six seasons and a movie!” quite yet, although we can take heart that the network recognizes the loyalty of the Community fanbase.
