Synopsis:
Dr Michael Vine dies of a heart attack. At the funeral his son, Dr. James, announces that his wife will be the new practice nurse, putting his mother, Sal, out of a job. Sal struggles to occupy her time, so she joins the local Women's Guild, as does Kate Bales, a bereavement counselor.
