Reality series in which 28 adults and 8 children are left for a year on a remote Scottish island. The island is Taransay, in the Hebrides off the north coast of Scotland. Three miles long and 2 miles wide, Taransay is uninhabited except for sheep. The "castaways" live in dome-like "pods," eating homegrown vegetables and meat from livestock they've slaughtered; they draw energy from a wind turbine and hydroelectric source.
