Synopsis:
A sullen teenage tomboy clashes with her grieving mom after the death of her father. She resists her mother's attempts to make her more feminine even as she is becoming noticed by a young man in the small-town farm community. As her only outlet, she picks on a retarded boy but after an accident that nearly kills the boy, she realizes maybe it is time to grow up and makes amends with her mother.
