Synopsis:  The story of Bridget Fitzgerald, a Catholic and an elementary school teacher, and Bernie Steinberg, a Jew and a struggling New York cab driver and aspiring writer. When the two marry, they are assailed by the noisy complaints of the bigots in each of their families who object to a "mixed marriage."
