Battlestar Galactica: Maelstrom

Starbuck's dreams about the Cylon Leoben and the mysterious symbol found in the temple on the algae planet lead her to explore the nature of her life and recall her painful past with her abusive mother. While patrolling the fleet, she spots a Cylon ship and pursues, only to be led into a giant storm cloud, where she learns that it is her destiny to explore the space between life and death. Drawn by this knowledge, the cloud, and a surreal experience where she makes peace with her dying mother, Starbuck accepts her destiny and flies her ship into the cloud, where it is destroyed by the pressure.
