Poor little Allison Iraheta. On last night's American Idol, her outfit received more attention than her vocals. The 16-year-old rocker sang No Doubt's "Don't Speak" in a girly punk look. Her ensemble included a poofy pink dress that featured black lace and white detailing, black leggings, white heels, and was topped off with spiky hair and a bow barrette.
The barrage of clothing criticism began with Randy Jackson, who is not normally one to comment on the contestants' wardrobes. "What are you wearing?" asked Randy. "I don’t get this ensemble tonight." New and rarely helpful judge Kara DioGuardi chimed in, calling the outfit "a little distracting," and Simon Cowell hit it home, telling Allison she looked "like something out of The Addams Family." The always positive Paula Abdul kept quiet on the wardrobe issue, which really says it all.
While it wasn't Allison's best look, I think the criticism went a little too far, since you know this is a singing competition and not Project Runway. What do you think?
