Based on the true story of Debbie Smith, a suburban housewife who was dragged from her home, raped and lived in fear for six years until she found, after delayed DNA testing, that the rapist had been in jail most of that time. Her ordeal inspired her campaign on behalf of all women to expedite the DNA testing that is critical for identifying rapists and putting them in jail. Her efforts led congress to pass "The Debbie Smith Act" to achieve this end.
