Synopsis:
Ruth has a class project that lets her email a Marine serving in Afghanistan, but she becomes concerned when everyone gets a return email but her. Eric calls his father for help in locating the missing Marine. The family learns about a helicopter crash in Kabul, but Ruthie insists that her pen pal is safe. Eric's father arrives with news that the missing Marine was one of the two men killed in the crash. The family finds their own ways to mourn his loss and honor his memory.
