Synopsis:
Drama series that tells the stories of the prosecutors, judges, defense attorneys and accused criminals in the night court of New York City. Judge Joe Rifkin is regarded by many of his colleagues as too soft on criminals; his nickname is "Let 'em go, Joe." Judge Attallah "Queenie" Sims is a tough, no-nonsense jurist, referred to around the courtroom as "Attallah the Hun." Assistant District Attorney Cynthia Bennington is intelligent and totally insecure, as well as a devoted and compassionate worker. She wants desperately to make it on her own in a world her wealthy family is snobbishly set against. Assistant District Attorney Bobby Esposito was born and raised in Brooklyn; he's a terrific judge of character. His main problem is his family; his father is a "made" man and his brother is a junkie whom he always seems to be bailing out of trouble. Legal aid defense attorney, Ramon Rodriguez is smart and extremely ambitious, to become one of the premier criminal defense attorneys some day.
