A virulent network of veins reflects the dying light of a stormy sunset in this 1981 masterwork by (Marvin) Meat Loaf, who ascends from the depths to unmistakably echo 1749's "The Return Of Neptune," now considered an early masterpiece by American artist Simon Francois Ravenet. In this powerful reworking, the central figure bears no uncertain likeness to Mr. Loaf, as he bursts from the swell on the back of a monstrous steed, attended by a host of marine putti.
