Tangled Up in Hues: Excellence in Rock Portraiture
Comments |
|Gentle Giant. Giant, Gentle (British. Active 1970-1980.) Francois Rabelais, 16th century satirist and champion of the grotesque and absurd was of primary import to somewhat marginal British progressive rock act Gentle Giant, who commissioned illustrator George Underwood. Underwood's other works include David Bowie's The Rise & Fall of Ziggy Stardust, and LPs by the Fixx and T. Rex. With special permission from the gallery, the painting can be turned upside down, but it will only resemble a grotesque, absurd giant upside down.
