Film.com's FREE movie of the week is "Love the Hard Way." Oscar-winner Adrien Brody and Charlotte Ayanna star in this drama about a thief who falls for a curious, beautiful young woman. As their intimacy grows, a slick cop (Pam Greer) is closing in.
Set in Southwest France, 1962, at the end of the Algerian War. Together, a group of teenagers face the pressures of their maturing sexuality, the formation of their political ideals during a turbulent period in French politics, and the stress of completing their Baccalaureate exam. Tension is brought to a head when Henri, an older, militant Algerian-born "Pied-Noir" refugee (an Algerian born French national), begins attending the same boarding school as the two boys. His radical politics and more sophisticated sexuality creates a disruptive element in their quiet provincial milieu.
