Film.com's FREE movie of the week is "Love the Hard Way." Oscar-winner Adrien Brody and Charlotte Ayanna star in this drama about a thief who falls for a curious, beautiful young woman. As their intimacy grows, a slick cop (Pam Greer) is closing in.
Setting is a mansion in the suburbs where Samantha is getting ready for her wedding. Over the garden wall come three burglers led by cockney Pete, on the run with $300,000 after a safecracking that went wrong. After forcing the wedding photographer to hide their stash in his camera case, Pete and company pose as his assistants until the heat dies down. Over the next hour, the thieves get involved in all the family tensions brewing beneath the surface, as well as the chaos that ensues when the chauffeur chokes on a vol-au-vent and drops dead.
