The true story of reclusive British composer Peter Warlock who is mercilessly panned by haughty London Journal theatre critic Philip Heseltine, who accuses the rising young composer of stealing his ideas from others. Heseltine later becomes involved with an American chanteuse who, in her attempts to learn more about her lover, discovers that he is a deeply troubled schizophreniac whose other personality is that of composer Peter Warlock.
