Anita, Teresa and Valentina--all who originate from different parts of Italy and a range of social classes--find it difficult to empower themselves in a patriarchal, male chauvinist society. Through their private diaries, we trace each of their individual journeys over a twenty year period (from the mid-60s through to the early 80s).
