Maria, the matriarch of an Italian-American family living in upstate New York, struggles raising her children - Santino, Michael and Lucia. Santino is a charming con-artist and part-time bank robber, while Michael and Lucia remain independent and financially responsible. However, when Carmine, an old friend of Maria's, blows into town, the children and Maria are in for the biggest change of their lives.
