Urban Legends: The Final Cut

During a contest to determine the best thesis film, student filmmakers at Alpine University are having an unusually hard time of it because someone is killing crew members. Among the student competitors are the son of a famous film mogul and Amy, whose thesis film is about the contemporary tall tales known as urban legends and who must unmask the killer before she too becomes an urban legend.

Morrison ("Stir of Echoes") never finds the right mix of vulnerability, naïvetÃ© and attitude to play the slasher flick damsel-in-distress-turned-heroine. (And she's never in any real peril.) Sorely missing are the outrageous performances that Rebecca Gayheart, Danielle Harris and Julian Richings provided in the original "Urban Legend" -- the supporting players, shackled to tired Hollywood clichÃƒÂ©s and a lackluster story, never get to exercise their dramatic talents.
