Two Penny Dance

Juliane is stuggling to make ends meet, raising her two children on very little money as her husband suffers from depression and is in and out of mental hospitals. One Day she meets Otto, a young, handsome and tempermental blacksmith who is active in the labour movement. They engage in an adulterous relationship of great passion. When Juliane's husband commits suicide in the hospital, Juliane and Otto are able to bring their relationship out in the open. Suddenly, Otto is jailed for his political beliefs and the couple must overcome great obstacles before they can finally be married.
