Every time your social media platform of choice changes its privacy terms, you’ll see your friends list first wave response: panic, resentment, threats of abandonment, etc. Then comes the second wave: the debunkers, the “stop complaining, it’s free” enthusiasts.
It’s easy to scoff at the hordes of freaked out Friendsters… but what if they’re right? “Terms and Conditions May Apply,” a documentary from writer/director Cullen Hoback which premieres at Slamdance Film Festival, takes a hard look at the privacy policies of websites we all use, the fine print we’re not paying attention to, and what rights we might be signing away. Check out the trailer below, and be very wary.
