Top Five Star Trek Villains
Christine Champ April 12, 2009

With J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek redo about to release, it seems a fitting time to recall some of the crews’ most memorable and magnificent alien nemeses.
The Borg
A corporation of cybernetic capitalists that mercilessly acquire and assimilate other humanoids — with no negotiations. Governed by a hive mind and the regally repulsive Borg Queen.
Likes: Adapting to new situations. Meeting new species … and assimilating them.
Dislikes: Germs (pathogens) and losing an implant.
Motto: Resistance is futile.
Q
Omnipotent member of the Q continuum of uber-intelligent extra dimensional entities. A mercurial drama queen who pompously toys with and tests humanity. (It’s his fault TNG found the Borg.) Though ultimately, he has their best interests at heart. (Aww … )
Likes: Costume changes. Peeving pal Jean-Luc Picard. Boasting. Goading humans.
Dislikes: Being mortal.
The Founders
It’s a bird, it’s a chair! Oops! It’s a Founder.
This race of changelings’ natural state is liquid protoplasm, though Odo temporarily takes solid form to live and love with his DS9 comrades.
Likes: Linking with other changelings.
Dislikes: Stasis fields. LTDs (Link Transmitted Diseases).
Lursa and B’tor
Two bad Klingon b*tches. Treacherous sisters of the Klingon House of Duras adept at political manipulation, terrorism and inciting civil war.
Likes: Armor that compliments a lady’s cleavage.
Dislikes: Warf.
Khan Noonien Singh
A Shakespeare-riffing warlord exiled to a planet in the Ceti Alpha system by Kirk in the original series. In 1982′s Star Trek II Khan (Ricardo Montalban) returns madder and sexier than ever with a mission to get Kirk.
Likes: Shakespeare, shirts that showcase his steely pecs, and sticking mind-controlling eels in his enemies’ ears.
Dislikes: Captain James T. Kirk.
